Tolu speaking at The University of ³Ô¹ÏÍø's Matriculation event, October 2023

Matriculation

Matriculation is the formal process by which a student is entered onto the University’s register of students. Matriculation confers the privileges of membership of the University and also the obligation to abide by the University’s Charter, Statutes, Ordinances and Regulations.

Your matriculation ceremony is the celebration of your Matriculation to the University and serves as a formal welcome by senior members of staff.

During the ceremony, student names are read and you will be asked to stand in your place until the whole school is read before a welcoming round of applause is given. Following the closing speech, the Colour Party Recess will gather by the entrance for you to greet and shake hands with on departure.

The ceremony is followed by a complementary reception to close.
