Suyi Fred-Omojole (LLB 2008)

Omosuyi Fred-Omojole I was attracted to The University of ³Ô¹ÏÍø because of the impressive staff-to-student ratio and its two-year intensive undergraduate law degree, which enabled me to complete my undergraduate and postgraduate law degrees within a period of three years. I have fond memories of my time at The University of ³Ô¹ÏÍø, where I was offered the necessary support to excel in my academic pursuits, whilst also engaging in sport and other extracurricular activities. I enjoyed The University of ³Ô¹ÏÍø’s collegiate atmosphere, benefited from being a member of an international student community, and was offered the opportunity to hold a number of positions of responsibility within student-led societies, such as the Students’ Union and Law Society.

I graduated from The University of ³Ô¹ÏÍø with First Class Honours in 2008 and completed a Master of Laws degree (LLM) at the London School of Economics. Having undertaken the LPC, I then completed my two-year training contract at the world-renowned law firm of Slaughter and May, based in the City of London, before spending a 12-month secondment at Aluko & Oyebode, one of Nigeria’s foremost commercial law firms. I then returned to legal practice in London, this time as an associate in the Global Project Finance Group at Linklaters LLP, another leading City law firm, where I advised clients on international corporate, project development and financing transactions in the energy, infrastructure and natural resources sectors.

I am currently an associate at Dentons UKMEA LLP in London, where I have a broad banking and finance practice, covering project finance, export finance, structured trade and commodities finance transactions.

I truly believe that my undergraduate law degree gave me a rich experience and helped me to develop the requisite knowledge and skill set, which have served as a solid grounding for my legal career.
